Y’2 has refreshed their Single Rider Jacket pattern, introducing it under the new PR-65 designation (replacing the previous XR-42). The update simplifies the design while putting a sharper focus on the brand’s precision cutting and careful panel selection. The fit is now slightly less trim for a more comfortable feel through the body, and the back has been dramatically cleaned up, removing the buckle adjusters and replacing the multi-panel construction with a single-piece back that lets the leather take center stage.
Several details have also been modernized. The button cuffs have been replaced with sleek zippers, and the chest pocket has been angled slightly downward. You’ll still find two welted hand pockets at the sides, plus a single interior pocket behind the placket for keeping essentials close.
Inside, the jacket is lined with an 80% cotton and 20% linen blend through the body, paired with smooth 100% nylon twill in the sleeves so layers slide on easily and your arms never catch.
It’s built from a lightweight version of Y’2’s “Vintage Horse” Japanese horsehide, averaging roughly 1.0 to 1.2mm thick. The leather is custom-dyed in a rich, warm olive green that will deepen subtly with wear. A soft sheen is applied to echo vintage aniline-finished jackets, and both the shine and color will gradually mellow and fade as the jacket breaks in.
